Born in Jackson, MS on August 26, 1957 she was the daughter of William C. Ridings of Waverly and Norma S. Bixler of Mt. Juliet; stepdaughter of Ethel Jones Ridings of Waverly and the late Jack D. Bixler of Mt. Juliet. After graduating from Castle Heights Military Academy in 1975 having been honored as Miss Adjutant General and recipient of the Rifleman award, Mrs. Peterson attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and received a BS in Graphic Design from the Art Institute in Atlanta where she earned the highest award given upon graduation. She returned to Nashville to pursue a career in graphic design. And later she began a new career of parenting. Her zest for life centered on raising her two daughters, Olivia Ross Peterson of New York and Jillian Gray Peterson of Nashville. She loved and expanded her unique ability to nurture and love all children who crossed her path. Her second love was caring for any and all animals, especially those who needed rescuing. Hobbies included music and all forms of art.
