Obituary of Sue Trice Comer

A Celebration of Life will be conducted for Sue Trice Comer on Sunday May 1 at 2pm at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon. Mrs. Comer was born March 27, 1930 in Lebanon Tennessee to Roy and Mary Lou Bradley Trice. She is survived by Herman Comer, her husband of 63 years; daughters Nancy Lou Comer, Susan Royce Comer (Chris) Haynes, grandchildren Harrison Comer (Justine) Haynes, Bradley Lee Haynes, Suzanna Lou Haynes, great-grandchildren Chloe Lynne Haynes and Clarke Spurgeon Haynes; brother Billy Lee Trice; nephews and nieces. Mrs. Comer was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Mary Katherine Hicks and Edna Reed, nieces Bobby Jane Reed Nokes and Peggie Reed Dill. Mrs. Comer received her education at George Peabody College for Teachers and MTSU. She began her teaching career at Lebanon High School where she taught for 33 years. She continued her career as a teacher at the Wilson County Adult High School and substituted at Lebanon High School and Southside Elementary School. Mrs. Comer was a member of Rocky Valley Baptist Church. Visitation with the family will be at Sellars Funeral Home on Saturday April 30 from 2pm until 8pm and on Sunday from 11am until the service at 2pm. The Reverends Joe Coleman and Mark Rager will be conducting her service. Pallbearers are nephews Terry, Tommy, Tony Trice and Jimmy, Carl, and Joe Comer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lebanon High School Science Department, Country K-9, or new Leash on Life.
