Dear Pendergrass Family, Reavis was the kind of man who always brought out the best in others. He was always pleasant, supportive and loving to those he met. Even thought in the later years I did not have the happy privilege to enjoy his companionship, I can say that he was a wonderful example of faith, courage and moral strength. My life while growing up at Central Pike Church of Christ and at Dodson Elementary School as well as at Donelson High School class of 1967 was enriched and strengthened by his friendship. We spent many days together riding the school bus with his dad at the wheel, in Bible class and in school. Reavis was always a strong, positive example for good. As a young man, he served the Lord with all his might. I know he continued in faithful service to God until the end. My prayers for Beverly and the rest of your family are being sent. William Hunter

Reavis was always an upbeat and positive individual. I pray for the Pendergrass family in their great loss. I know when Reavis felt he needed to retire from TDOT, it created a great loss in the Project Management Division. Again, my prayers are with his family. May God's spirit lighten your family's loss in the days to come.

I always remembered Reavis as a quiet, but true gentleman. Even as a young man, he was one to look up to for his faith and his example to others. His feet were always solidly on the ground, but more importantly on the Rock of Salvation. A great soldier of the cross has gone home.

Condolences to Reavis' entire family. He was my first boss at TDOT. No one could ask for a better mentor. Patient, reliable, capable and fair. A center of calm in stressful situations. A fine man who will be sorely missed.
