Obituary of Reavis Pendergrass
PENDERGRASS, Reavis T., age 62 of Mt. Juliet. A beloved husband, devoted father, loving brother, uncle and friend to many, Reavis, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 15, 2012. Preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Catherine Smith Pendergrass. Survived by his wife of 38 years, Beverly; children, Amanda Scruggs (Michael, son-in-law) and Brooke Pendergrass; grandchild, Norah Scruggs; sister, Caroline DeCeunick (Jerry, brother-in-law) and many other loving relatives, in-laws and friends. Reavis was a devoted servant at Central Pike Church of Christ where he served in many roles including youth minister, song leader, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School Director, deacon and elder. Reavis served and retired from the Air National Guard. Reavis was a devoted employee of the Tennessee Department of Transportation for over 42 years serving as roadway designer and Project Manager. Reavis will be greatly missed by all those that knew his loving, caring, and professional attitude along with his keen sense of humor. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Middle Tennessee area Alive Hospice. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17 from 2-8 pm and Wednesday, January 18, 11 am to 1 pm with funeral services at 1 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet.
